Puces de Nice

Stumbled across this little market and really enjoyed looking around at the antiques. As others say, it is small, often cluttered, and can feel a little cramped but that's part of the experience I think. The vendors here clearly care a lot about the quality and historical value of the items. Many of the larger items are quite expensive but you can find a trinket here to use as a unique souvenir quite cheaply.

It's small compact market. We arrived Friday after 10a.m. not all stores were open.

Had a very uncomfortable, terrible experience. More than half of the stores closed, don't even bother to say hello back to me, some sellers are nice but one of the seller(he was this tall, white guy with long blond hair) was rude-racist-rude i mean- I'm from South Korea and looks just like Asian and I was trying to try on the tiny ring(must have been 20 euros or sth) inside the cabinet, it was obviously open at the moment, and that white guy come over hurrying to yell at me "put it back, we don't do that in France." I said sorry but his attitude was too bad to be true. I honestly have no idea what have I done, from the first time he was near the shop but didn't bother to look at us when we stepped in and said Bonjour.

Plentiful of stalls of all sizes and items being on sale for various prices. Some stalls have card readers, majority are cash.

So schon...aber auf kleinstem Raum...besser Hingehen wenn Saison ist...da findet man echte Antiquitaten...ich war begeistert...

What an utter waste of my time, best avoided! Walked all the way from Cimiez expecting to find a treasure trove of fresh new antique finds to buy and take home with me but was met with small fixed shops and shop owners having lunch! Not even a hello, or bonjour nothing. Full of boring dilapidated and wizened old dealers who have stocked their small roller doored shops with genuine flea market finds they found 20 years ago and now ask the earth for them. If you want something unique try the back streets of Provence, but a genuine antiques roadshow find best look elsewhere. That said if you want cunning antique dealers to have done the work for you and you're happy to pay the big price and introduce yourself firstly to them then this maybe an option for you. As a rough price guide the small 30cm high white Davids head was priced at EU120 euro, the big bronze statue was reduced for me on the day from EU4500 to EU3500 euro, the icon figure of Jesus EU30, and she really was a lovely and friendly woman, i didn't speak French but she was so nice and put in the effort with me speaking my limited French. So my overall advice is to put in the personal effort and maybe they might get up off their chairs finish lunch or doom- scrolling and say Bonjour! Alas finally for me as a seasoned antiques collector it's Au revoir Puces De Nice it wasn't "Nice" knowing you:) :( But for you it maybe worth a 'Bonjour Ca Va' but for me certainly not the long long walk from Cimiez! :)

Kleine Laden mit gunstigen Trodel und teuren Antiquitaten

Da ist mein Herz aufgegangen! Hier gibt es unglaublich schone Sachen....leider ist aber meine Geldborse nicht tief genug! Ich empfehle jedem/r Tourist/in einen langsamen Spaziergang zwischen den Geschaften...es lohnt sich!!!!!
